La Sera – Devils Hearts Grow Gold

This 7″ single is the first release from LA SERA since this years self-titled full length. Both come from the Hardly Art label, while this 7″ holds the previously unreleased B-side cover track “Dedicated to the One I Love”.

If you found the time to dive into La Sera’s full length this year, then you should probably already know what to expect here. “Devils Hearts Grow Gold” is an addicting little slice of glimmering pop perfection, coming through with sparkling guitar leads and a nasally bass that flows with caution underneath. Also swimming below the surface are several layers of weeping guitars goodness that trail off into the background, making for a handful of subtleties throughout that come and go just as quickly as you decide this track requires another spin. Housed on the B-side is a cover song entitled “Dedicated to the One I Love”. This was originally written by Lowman Pauling and Ralph Bass from a single that dates way back to 1961 by The Shirelles – now done up with the honest and gorgeous voice of Kickball Katy. Now here both sides right below!
