Hailing from Atlanta, Gerogia come CARNIVORES, serving up their own blend of cool and chilly garage-pop. Currently you can find them on tour with hometown friends Mood Rings.
Coming from the folks at Double Phantom Records, this 7″ fits right into their catalog without question. Characterizing their nearly seven minute single reveals a few unique elements – like a muddy bass guitar that bellows beneath the tropical, primal rhythm of “Second Impulse” – where Carnivores cook up a surprisingly frantic lo-fi sound. Lead singers Caitlin Lang and Nathaniel Higgins howl with energy as they’re backed by the swampy notions that come along with these songs, eventually resulting in a fanfare of shimmering guitar jangle that is too delightful to be ignored (“Second Impulse”). There’s even a slight strobe-light texture that works itself into the mix, hereby solidifying the underlying drugged out vibe that is to be discovered in these strangely optimistic tracks. Hear them both below right now and snag that 7″ while it’s still available!
