Coming from the Hardly Art imprint is the debut 7″ from COLLEEN GREEN. She creates catchy and blissful bedroom music somewhere out of Los Angeles, California. The music is self-described as “stoner pop”, and the more you begin to follow Miss Green, the more you’ll notice her obvious love for weed.
It’s probably just a coincidence that her last name happens to be Green and that she also loves pot. But either way, the marketing practically writes itself – there’s definitely tons of room for creativity there. Her Facebook page reads “It’s really fucking easy being green.” Well sure, it definitely doesn’t sound that difficult! Living out in sunny Los Angeles? Releasing a 7″ with your favorite piece of glass on the cover? Going on a ridiculous month of touring (okay that part might get hectic-she doesn’t have a day off for an entire month!)? Yeah, things are looking pretty good for Colleen Green right about now. Oh yeah, and then there’s this brand new 7″ she just released on the Hardly Art label, coming through with all kinds of blissful and fuzzy girl-pop charm. Kind of forgot to talk about that.
It’s four tracks deep, with each song masked by a delightful guitar fuzz, which is driven by percussion electronics including clapping, glistening chimes, and everything else in between. You can’t really ask for more out of a ten minute long 7″, so spin this thing for a highly enjoyable ten minutes of your day, but who said it has to stop there? Grab that bag and pack one up!
PS – Check out her comics, too. Interesting stuff! I wonder what this girl can’t do! And also, check out another song from the 7″ right here.
