Since May 23rd, Melbourne’s purveyors of psyched-out noise rock SHOVELS have been stateside for a tour through the US. Their trip is now nearly complete, coming to an end on June 18th in Northampton, MA. What does that mean for you? Get off your ass and go catch them before it’s too late – they’re in NYC today. We didn’t waste our chance to see the trio, as we were lucky to catch them in Philadelphia and then AGAIN in Baltimore a couple days later. At the same time, Shovels didn’t blow their chance to lay waste to an entire crowd of eager onlookers. The trio delivers their unique blend of psych and noise like a battering ram plowing through your front door, spearheaded by manic percussion while their songs progress cleanly and seamlessly right before your eyes. Their intensity is palpable and everything in the room comes to a screeching halt while these guys do what they do best.

The folks at Frantic City Records have been on a tear this far through 2015. Wall of Cheese from LADY BANANA, a trio based in Göteborg, Sweden, is their third most-recent release, delivering a blend of bluesy garage and punk in a blistering 20-minute tantrum.
The two labels that put out this DIVIDERS record said it best – “Dividers speed up and purify these folk melodies.” Fourwalls Farewell is the Toulouse-based band’s debut LP, released by both Casbah and Beast Records out of France.
