While I slacked off for two years and stopped blogging, Gabriele over at Goodbye Boozy Records – the premier outlet for garage punk records out of Italy – continued to churn out records at an alarming clip (sometimes with 4 or 5 new records at a time). Their latest set of 7″ singles is now available for preorder, one of which is the latest from Oakland, California punks MIDNITE SNAXXX. Continue reading “Midnite Snaxxx – Greedy Little Thing 7″”
Mono-Tone Records in France has seemingly done the impossible and rounded up a proper full-length collection documenting Memphis’ legendary all-female punk quartet, THE KLITZ, with Rocking the Memphis Underground 1978-1980. Formed sometime around 1978, the band was initially comprised of Gail Elise Clifton (vocals), Lesa Aldridge (guitar), Marcia Clifton (drums), and Amy Gassner, who was later recruited to play bass.
Formed in early 2014 in Madison, Wisconsin, DUMB VISION now has two separate cassette tapes under their belt. A Total Commitment To Evil was released in late 2017 on the bands own Rare Plant label. Their two tapes are only the beginning of bigger things to come, as the band has both a 7″ and a full-length album planned for later down the road in 2018.
Sydney, Australia’s coolest group of guitar slingers dropped a new 7″ on Spacecase Records for 2018. Two new guitar-driven garage bangers fill the grooves on this single, combining for nearly 5 minutes of pure, unadulterated rock and roll.
I can’t think of a better way to get things rolling here again. Heaven & Hell Records in North Carolina just unleashed the first true reissue of WHITE BOY & THE AVERAGE RAT BAND since 1980. This self-titled sludge bomb has likely become the holy grail of titles for many record collectors, but this new pressing makes it accessible to a whole new generation who loves blowing their eardrums out in the name of ripping, metal-influenced guitar hookage. You can stop waiting, for THE RAW NERVES have returned with their long-awaited sophomore record. More Nerves is their second LP on 1:12 Records in New Zealand, coming with 15 more tracks about love, depression, straight-up hooliganism, and then some.
Secret Mission Records in Pittsburgh and Mangrove Records in Japan have joined forces to release the first 7″ from the raging Japanese punk trio CAR CRASH. Continue reading “Car Crash – Execution 7″”
Kerchow! Records in Chino Hills, California just dropped a cassette from Fresno-based, four-piece crew DIRTY LIMBS. They’re releasing Blood Operator in just a short run of 50 tapes with a gut-busting mix of garage and psych.
As always, Goodbye Boozy Records has been slinging out the goods. The latest cause for excitement is the debut 7″ from NO LIMIT, a duo from Geelong, Australia featuring Jake from Ausmuteants and Hierophants and Jeff from School Damage and Chugga and the Fuckheads. Continue reading “No Limit – s/t 7″”
