LOVE HANDLES are a pop duo from West Palm Beach, Florida. Both members are also from Florida band Cop City/ Chill Pillars, except here they stick more to the pop side of the fence. Continue reading “Love Handles – Handled 7″”
Young Mammals – Landlady 7″
After a busy touring schedule and releasing their debut album “Carrots” during 2010, YOUNG MAMMALS laid low for a majority of 2011 despite a few hometown shows. Now they’re back with the brand new “Landlady” 7″ on Bombs By Mail. Continue reading “Young Mammals – Landlady 7″”
Ancient Sky – T.R.I.P.S.
The debut offering from Brooklyn’s own ANCIENT SKY just might be one of our current favorite records. Their pulsing form of psychedelic rock reaches new heights with each passing track, eventually leaving us with an album of grandiose proportions. Continue reading “Ancient Sky – T.R.I.P.S.”
The Hussy – Dokks 7″
The Hussy are a two-piece trash band from Madison, Wisconsin. Last month they released a 7inch single: “Dokks” backed with “On the Cover”. I like this record! This band gets to the point, they make it, and they’re out. This entire single clocks in at under three minutes, making this the perfect record for today’s modern, drug-addled, hipster freak with an old, fucked-up turn table and a severely diminished attention span.
Ty Segall/ Feeling of Love – Split 7″
Coming from the one and only Permanent Records in Chicago is a brand new split 7″ between TY SEGALL and THE FEELING OF LOVE. The single was pressed in an edition of just 550 for their recent US tour together. Continue reading “Ty Segall/ Feeling of Love – Split 7″”
War – At War For Youth 7″
The new 7″ single from Copenhagen post-punk band WAR on Sacred Bones is a unique and somewhat puzzling release to say the least. The band includes Elias Bender Rønnenfelt of Iceage and Loke Rahbek of Sexdrome. Continue reading “War – At War For Youth 7″”
Burnt Ones – Meet the Golden One 7″
Here’s a brand new 7″ from San Francisco fuzz rockers BURNT ONES. The single comes co-released from the one and only Burger Records in California and Gold Records. The single is limited to 300 on gold vinyl! Continue reading “Burnt Ones – Meet the Golden One 7″”
Guantanamo Baywatch – Oh Rats! 7″
The sun never really shines in Portland, Oregon, but you would not know it by listening to “Oh Rats!”, the latest 7″ from Guantanamo Baywatch, the Bridge City’s best Rock and Roll band. Continue reading “Guantanamo Baywatch – Oh Rats! 7″”
The Myonics – Pagans
The Myonics are a band from San Francisco California. They have been around for many years with many different incarnations. Their most recent release Pagans is their first foray into vinyl. This record zig-zags back and forth between noisy psychotic freak outs interlaced with very catchy and pleasant but sometimes uncomfortably poignant hooks. The end result is an album with a lot of dissident and chaotic sounds packed tightly into ten surprisingly tight and well structured compositions.
