Azbin Records in France just set free a new batch of vinyl. Their latest includes the debut self-titled EP from MR. GARISSON, cramming four garage-punk bangers onto a 7″ slice of hot, crusty wax.
There’s limited information about this band readily available for your consumption, not to mention their name is virtually useless in search engines. The most we’ve been able to confirm is that they’re from Rouen in France and they are indeed named after the South Park character.
Their four songs are littered with ultra-fuzzy guitars, guided by the menacingly echoed howling of their barbaric frontman. They were produced by sound engineer Cedric Achenza, who has worked with the Feeling of Love and JC Satan in the past. They execute their fuzzy freakouts in monumental psych-rock fashion, evidenced by the crushing EP closer “Nothing.” It’s staggered and drawn-out and completely ravaged by fuzz, progressively gaining intensity while dropping its weight on you all at once. Elsewhere on the EP, “Bitch” is a blown-out bandit anthem that morphs into a splitting psychedelic burner. They go from punk to psych rock on the dime and you don’t really know what hit you, but it just proves these guys are right on point. Get on this one early because they’re bound to go sooner than later. It’s also worth mentioning they’re recording a full-length album as we speak.
