If you’re aching for a harsh listen, this new 7″ from TORTURED TONGUES will be right up your alley. Churned out from the Hozac label, this could be one of their scuzziest releases to date before 2010 is all said and done.
This raucous group of sludge-rockers come from the capital of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg, and after some careful searching, it looks like this is their second release to date. Their first comes from a label called Lethal Triad Records, and I could find almost nothing about that 7″, but you could buy it right here at Florida’s Dying if you’re interested.
Three new songs are included on this new cut of wax from Hozac, and this thing rips hard. If sloppy, pissed-off punk rock is normally you’re thing, then you’re in luck. But this stuff definitely isn’t for everybody – more specifically, this isn’t for the people who don’t like to bleed from the ears. The lead singer (name unknown) sounds like he’s a bit wasted, slurring his words at times and sounding completely belligerent from start to finish. His scratchy voice goes a long way in complementing the cacophony of guitars and rigid drumming, almost getting to a point where the music becomes disturbing and unrelenting. These guys aren’t gonna let you get away with anything, even your dignity – so keep in mind as you listen that you’re a moral and ethical being and hopefully you’ll come out of this one alive and not feeling like you just took a bath in a pool of deadly and corrosive toxic waste.
