After emerging with a big year in 2014, Grand Rapids, MI surf-psych crew HEATERS are back in 2015 with their first 7″ record, Mean Green. Released by Beyond Beyond Is Beyond Records in Brooklyn, NY, the 3-piece appears to be gearing up for another fruitful year.

After dropping Alex Falardeau from their lineup, the remaining Plantains (Andrew Tamlyn, Josh Korf, Nolan Krebs) have spiced things up with a new band name, HEATERS. The Bristol-based label Stolen Body Records specializes in limited-edition vinyl releases, and they recently dropped one of their most ambitious albums early in 2014. It’s a split LP featuring the Grand Rapids, Michigan, psych crew PLANTAINS (now known as Heaters) and OS NOCTAMBULOS, who hail from across the pond in Paris.
