Since we last caught up with SICK THOUGHTS they’ve been hard at work. Need No One is the second 7″ from these Baltimore teen rockers, continuing their violent string of scrappy, blown-out punk rock.
The duo of Drew Owen and Rob Doesntwantajob have dropped a slew of records this far into 2013. They just released their first full-length LP Terminal Teen Age on Cleveland-based Dead Beat Records, marking their fifth release of the year. Need No One is like the picture-perfect preview of their new LP, cramming three new cuts of their melodic, noise-crusted tantrums down our throats. Self-titled track “Need No One” is led by a wave of bass throbs, revealing a solo of sharp-edged guitar shredding to close out the track. EP closer “You Know I Got It” features a pulsing pop edge, led by Owen’s grainy howling to make for one of the most-inviting Sick Thoughts tracks we’ve heard yet. Listen to these crusty freakouts below, then head on over to Can’t Stand Ya! Records to pick up this little piece of filth – it’s only $5!
