Aqua Nebula Oscillator – Om Na Mio 7″

Om Na Mio offers some noisy, mind-melting psych rock, an archival release of underground French psych-outs AQUA NEBULA OSCILLATOR. The 7″ comes courtesy of Who Can You Trust? Records in Germany.

Specifically from Paris, Aqua Nebula Oscillator bring an acid-laden sound you won’t want to mess with. “Om Na Mio” and “Freak Out” come from two different incarnations of the band, with one dating from 2004 and the other from 2009. Together these two heated tracks come swirling in a boiling cauldron of experimental acid-psych rage, making for two heavyweight and menacing onslaughts.

B-side “Freak Out” comes with an intensely primitive edge and is always on the verge on exploding, offering a completely different vibe from the A-side “Om Na Mio.” It drags along with a heavy thud and a constant, clangorous swell of searing, metallic guitars, most of which are likely improvised. The track never solidifies with any noticeable pattern, it just ends up dying out towards the end leaving you to cringe in the noisy madness. “Om Na Mio” has more structure than the B-side. Throbbing bass lines, sloppy percussion and kaleidoscopic synths lead the way in this psychedelic whirlwind, spearheaded by the ripping guitars and murky, chanted vocals. There’s a dark and evil vibe oozing from all sides of this tripped-out psych, perpetually suffering from a manic beatdown of a staggering combination of sounds.

For now you can listen to the A-side right here. Keep your eyes on the WCYT? website for information to buy the 7″ in the near future.
