Krang/ Shooting Guns – Psychic Handshake Split 7″

Coming from Psychic Handshake Recordings in Montreal, these two Canadian monstrosities KRANG and SHOOTING GUNS teamed up for an exceptionally heavy 7″ of all things psychedelic rock.

“Shake Joint” shows off Krang’s staggering psych rock comprised of mangled guitars and an enveloping swirl of smokey haze. “Sky High and Blind” is Shooting Gun’s side of the 7″ and it offers an even heavier sound than the first. Evil, disturbed guitars lead the way with a foreboding pace, creating a menacing wave of doom-psych fury as the track unfolds. All that being said, both of these tracks come from a similar vein of druggy, tripped-out psych rock that will leave a searing scar. Remembering most of the lo-fi snarl that came from Krang’s past Mammoth Cave 7″, they have certainly cleaned up their sound this time around. Aside from that, this 7″ is generally instrumental with the exception of a few murky, chanted vocals on “Shake Joint,” leaving plenty of room from the rabid guitars to dominate.
