Courtesy of Hosehead Records in Toronto, the STEVE ADAMYK BAND of Ottawa is back again with a new four-song 7″ titled Monterrey. The single comes limited to 500 pieces with risograph printed artwork.
This marks the second 7″ and fourth record overall for the Steve Adamyk Band this far into 2013, spanning labels like Dirtnap Records, P. Trash Records in Germany and All in Vinyl. The self-titled “Monterrey” opens this EP with a fiery guitar attack, setting the pace for this caffeinated punk rock with crashing drums and rowdy vocal chants. “You’re Fired” brings the simmer to a boil, brimming with roaring punk guitars that gun straight for the throat. The chorus hook is both catchy and heavy, boasting a throbbing bass line along with a second dose of infectious, fist-in-air chanting. “For You (Hold On)” is a guitar-driven pop-punk stomper, coming through with a bruising rhythm section and shredded guitar squeals. The 7″ closes out with the relentless “Front to Back,” delivering the final blow of guitar-fueled punk rock with an explosive wall of fury.
