Based over in Milan, Italy is a brand new record label called One Chord Wonder Records. Their first release comes from a punk band in Turin, Italy known simply as THE PONCHES.
Operating since 2005, the Ponches are dropping what looks to be their second 7″ to date. It includes a brand new song from the band titled “Onions & Tuna Fish” and it’s backed by a cover of “Kick Down the Doors” from the Professionals 1981 album I Didn’t See It Coming. They do the song justice with their own take of clean and muscular punk rock, delivering two densely-filled tracks with rollicking guitars, adding a heated and crunchy flare to both songs. “Onions & Tuna Fish” is a short and sweet punk burner, driven by fiery chords and swift percussion. It’s tightly woven and right on point, unleashing their clean-cut fury in just under two minutes. B-side “Kick Down the Doors” is a grandiose punk affair, overflowing with melodic guitar hooks and soaring vocals. The song eventually changes gears into a growing and triumphant fit of rage, blowing the song open at the seams. Listen to the A-side track below in this awesome promotional video for the 7″
