The Lonesome Savages – All Outta Love 7″ EP

The latest release from Kind Turkey Records is not to be missed. It’s the debut 7″ EP from THE LONESOME SAVAGES, a band that includes both Dead Luke and Max Elliott, formerly of Zola Jesus.

To continue name dropping, the entire single was also recorded and mixed by the one and only Bobby Hussy of The Hussy. Needless to say, this is a superstar lineup from top to bottom that had a hand in this EP. The end results would only help prove that.

The four track single drags along at a heavily staggering pace, guided along by Max Elliott’s crackling vocal howls and Dead Luke’s scorching guitar leads. These two elements combine for a hectic and unsettling vibe throughout the single, filled out at times by pulsing rockabilly keyboards (“Got Love”) that truly gives this single an authentic feel. As if we didn’t already know that was Dead Luke’s specialty, he sounds fired up and ready for action throughout the EP – his sharp, twangy, and blistering guitar leads take songs to a whole new level. See “Got Love” again for an outstanding example, which takes a turn for the best a short bit past the one minute marker. Leave it all to Dead Luke from there. Shortly afterward comes the closing track “Train Kept a Rollin”, where they plow on through with a stomping beat, leading us right into a wash of jarring guitar madness. This creates a memorable finale to say the least.
