Philadelphia’s own MOON WOMEN have been quite active these days, most recently releasing this debut 7″ we have here today. Last we heard was a live EP recorded at WXPN studios here in Philly, so let’s see what they’ve got for us this time around.
For those of you lucky enough to be in Philadelphia, Moon Women play this coming Saturday (April 30th) at Johnny Brenda’s with Parts & Labor. If you’re around it should be a fantastic show and this 7″ here is bound to be on the merch table. It features two brand new and unreleased Moon Women tracks, both of which you can hear right below. “Light Moves Slowly” comes off as a heavy grunge-filled ass-kicker before anything else, hitting like a mountainous wall of sound that will leave you begging for mercy. “When the Lights Go Out” takes a step back on the heaviness, with frantic drumming, throbbing bass lines and hazy guitar licks that quickly proves you’ll be coming back for seconds on this one. See how you feel about the two songs below, then come out on Saturday night and see them come to life right before your eyes!
