The Mantles – Raspberry Thighs 7″

This 7″ here is THE MANTLES debut European release, coming from SDZ Records in France. It features two brand new tracks, which are both overflowing with enough positive vibes to keep you smiling for days.

It’s The Mantles first record of the new year after quite a busy 2010, which resulted in multiple releases from the likes of Mexican Summer and Dulc-I-Tone (as well as an LP on Siltbreeze in 2009). See their discography here for more info, but not without checking out the songs below first. They’re jangly, energetic, slightly grainy in quality, and seemingly bathed in sunshine from beginning to end, and I’m willing to bet you’d like it!

The B-side “Roman Hat” follows a similar formula to the A-side, but the difference would be the quick guitar freakout smack-dab in the middle of the track. It sticks out like an abrasive sore thumb over top of blazing chord blasts, and it comes out of nowhere on the first listen, ending just as quickly as it began. Just when you think it’s not happening again, the freakish guitars come back for the last twenty seconds to wrap up the song. Now hear for yourself in these two new tracks below, then head on over to the SDZ Boutique as well and snag yourself a copy!
