Seth Sutton and the USELESS EATERS are coming back in a wave. Desperate Living is his new EP for Slovenly Records, while there’s also new 7″ singles from Goodbye Boozy and Jeffrey Drag Records.
It’s perfect timing for summer for this spike of material from Sutton, dropping records one by one after his sophomore LP Hypertension on Jeffrey Drag Records last year. This 7″ comes with three new tracks, showing off Sutton’s wonky, off-centered brand of garage punk. “Desperate Living” unfolds with some crunchy guitars chords and a bruising rhythm, creating this sharp-edged, tightly-wound stomper. There’s a layer of sci-fi synths angled around the guitars for an added dose of color. “I Think She Wants To Find Out” is a propulsive punk anthem driven by slinky bass throbs and some gritty guitar work. Sutton’s vocals sound muffled and snotty, leading us right into a shredded but melodic guitar solo to seal up the track. Now listen below!
