Vacation Club – Daydream 7″

vacation club daydream 7 randy records 2013

Indianapolis-based garage sensation VACATION CLUB just dropped their first release on vinyl. It’s a two-song 7″ from the one and only Randy Records in Chicago, following their 2012 cassette EP on Happenin Records.

The youthful exuberance is off the charts for the four scoundrels in Vacation Club. Pair that with the ability to shred our faces off as innocently and loudly as possible and you’ve got yourself a damn good slice of wax. The single opens with a sweeping wave of glinting guitar fuzz, sending us straight into this highly energetic garage pop anthem. “Daydream” is a grandiose track in itself, showing off just a little bit of everything that makes this 7″ special. Crusty, jangly guitars, howling vocals and crushing sonics make up the recipe for their fun-loving approach to sloppy, ecstatic garage pop. They do it all again in B-side “Forest Babe,” bringing the heat with a streamlined, guitar-driven cave stomp. The song explodes into a ravaging mess of stringy, blown-out guitar noise, leaving you with just one concern: when do I get to hear more of this garage pop ecstasy? Listen to the 7″ below right now, then snag the 7″ from the ever-consistent Randy Records.
