Randy Records is back again with some new 7″ singles. The first is from the DEAD GHOSTS of Vancouver, being the precursor to their upcoming sophomore LP Can’t Get No on Burger Records.
The two songs on this 7″ are the first Dead Ghosts recordings since their debut LP on Florida’s Dying. That would certainly help explain why we haven’t posted anything new from these guys since 2010, but luckily for us that’s changing today. Both of these tracks are about as new as it gets, but only one of them will appear on their upcoming LP on Burger. It’s titled “I Sleep Alone” and it’s exactly the strand of bluesy, heartfelt garage rock we’ve come to love from this Vancouver crew. It’s done up with their own twangy, country-esque flavor, separating them from the rest of the trashy basement dwellers with reverb-heavy vocals and a colorful organ solo. They change gears completely for B-side track “Spot a Trend”, exposing us to a dark and damaged punk sound with tightly-woven guitar hooks and gritty, blown-out vocal shrills. They wrap it up toward the end with a broken guitar solo and some extra twang, hereby leaving us itching for their upcoming LP. Hear both tracks below and you will be too.
