Natural Child – CRS Blues 7″

The Nashville boys are back again with their latest release for Jeffery Drag Records. CRS Blues is their second 7″ for the label, coming in a short run of just 500 that could be hinting at more somewhere down the line.

At this point it should be clear that these guys can’t be stopped. This is their first release for 2013, but naturally you’ve got to think there’s going to be more from them sooner than later. The two-track 7″ is right on pace for Natural Child, clocking in at nine minutes of invigorating blues rock with each track having its own special edge. “CRS Blues” unfolds slowly with a subtle, bluesy attitude, spanning past the six minute mark which gives the boys plenty of time to change up momentum and set us up for a rollicking finale. The guitars come along with a bright jangle as they ride the smooth waves, gaining some intensity as they progress toward a scorching finish. On the flipside “Nathan’s Blues” is a highlight in itself, boasting electrified guitar licks and raspy crooning to go along with their bluesy swagger. In the end, a 7″ like this suggests that Natural Child are at the height of their powers. See this video below for “CRS Blues” and find out for yourself.
