Trouble in Mind Records in Chicago dropped this scorching 7″ at the tail-end of 2012 and it’s already sold out. For those not yet aware, FUZZ is the no-longer-mysterious moniker of both Ty Segall and Charles Moothart.
Segall is back already and he never really even went anywhere – are you surprised? But for a split second is seemed like we’d be guessing who was making up the mysterious Fuzz after reading this. But after some simple searching and a careful spin of the 7″, it’s entirely clear who is responsible for these sounds. You can use this video for some added proof!
Together Moothart and Segall channel some serious 60s vibes, using the legendary ‘Fuzz Face’ guitar pedal to the best of its abilities by singeing the eyebrows clean off our faces. Through these two fuzzed-out tracks they lay it on heavy – Moothart holds down the guitar while Segall plays drums and sings – combining to create a lethal combination of molten doomsday psych-rock that’ll have the paint melting off the walls. Upon listening to “Fuzz’s Fourth Dream” this will all just seem like a sad, sad understatement.
In the end it’s one of those things we wish we could’ve gotten our hands on sooner – there’s no denying this would have been a perfect fit in our 7″ Countdown of 2012. Listen to these two scorchers below and find out why!
