The Nervous Ticks – Badlands 7″

Here’s another from the latest bunch of Goodbye Boozy singles. Hailing from Richmond, VA, the NERVOUS TICKS bring us two tracks of their raw and crunchy blues rock on Badlands.

The only problem you could possibly come up with for this 7″ would be its length – 3:34. It’s over in the blink of an eye, but this thing still leaves a deep, searing wound. “Badlands” and “Trash Talk” together combine for a splitting pair, showcasing the Nervous Ticks wild sound in a wave of snarling lo-fi fury. The rage only intensifies each of these gritty, garage-punk stomps, coming off with a bluesy edge that gives them their snappy, invigorating qualities. “Trash Talk” follows through with mutilated guitar leads, shrieking vocals and the perpetual, trampling thud that drives these songs into oblivion, with each trashy element working to characterize this unhinged sound. Now hear both sides of the single right below. Follow the buy links for what could be your last chance to grip this wax before it’s gone – it’s limited to less than 300 pressings.
