Hey folks, we’re now bringing in the new year with our first post of 2012. This is the debut 7″ from PAMELA on Southpaw Records, which features ex-members from familiar bands like Wax Idols, the Splinters and Wet Illustrated.
Released by Southpaw at the tail end of 2011, “Desert” sets Pamela on a new and promising path. Their murky, dreary strand of garage rock sounds heavily plagued by grungy 90’s vibes, proven excellently with their crunchy guitar licks and the creeping rhythm that presses on. Echoed vocals sound dark and ghastly as they coo over top of the shredded guitars, showcasing both top-notch songwriting abilities and mindful pop-song structure. It’s too early to say now but hopefully we hear more from Pamela sooner than later. Go snag yourself a 7″ from Southpaw before it’s too late.
