Hook heavy punk-poppers POPPETS are a guy-girl duo who hail from Sweden, releasing their latest 7″ single on the Windian Records label from Washington DC.
This looks to be their second 7″ to date, wielding two new short and sweet tracks that go a long way to show what Poppets are all about. Driven by frantic drum machine percussion, the duo of Magnus Anderson and Lina Hager have one goal in mind and they shove it down your throat. Catchy, gritty, hook-heavy and cute pop-punk suddenly fills the air for less than four minutes, retaining an element of simplicity that is just too good to ignore. The energetic guitars sound mangled and shredded as they speed on through with their hectic tendencies, sealing up one undeniably memorable 7″ that will require many spins before you finally feel satisfied. If you ever dug those First Base singles we covered awhile back, this one’s for you.
