Much like the bros we covered yesterday, TITAN BLOOD also hail from Houston and appear to be a part of the ever-expanding punk scene down there. Their new 7″ is certainly proof that they’re right where they belong.
They dropped their new 7″ on their own imprint known as the TB Collective, a spot that seems to be like their own little corner of the internet for them and their other band-friends. Their new 7″ EP “Too Much Talk” makes them out to be some of the rowdiest, noisiest crunch-punks from Houston, featuring a raspy and fiery punk rage that isn’t easily forgotten. The combination of caffeinated and shredded guitars plow on through with no remorse, leaving a bruising rhythm section to do the damage in it’s wake. The high-voltage guitars sound as if they would slice your fingers off if they got too close, proven in the relentless frenzy of a pummeling track like “Can’t Stand You.”
While the first few songs supply us with an excellent depiction of the Titan Blood sound, “Halftime” comes in with it’s rocking bluesy pianos, suddenly making you wonder, “Where the hell did this come from?” The short track sticks out like a sore thumb in the middle of the tracklist, mainly because it sounds NOTHING like everything surrounding it. Just as quickly it came and went, leaving us with the last two ragers on the 7″. “Weird Territory” is a short and angered punk onslaught, showing off some gritty and twangy soloing inbetween the bloodthirsty growls of lead singer Ryan Taylor. “I’m a Goon” wraps up the 7″ with it’s stomping power-pop notions, once again displaying their snotty attitude in a track that ends before the two minute mark.
By the end you should realize that these dudes are clearly fed up with all the bullshit. Somewhere in his bloodthirsty babbling, Taylor is spelling out his angry message, but we can’t seem to decipher it if our lives depended on it. Maybe you’ll have more luck. Listen to these track below and hear for yourself!
