TV Girl – Girls Like Me 7″

Coming from Small Plates Records is a brand new 7″ single from San Diego electronic duo TV GIRL. This single comes fresh off the heels of their free digital EP and contains two previously unreleased tracks.

Both of these new tracks bring lush electro-pop to the table with a somewhat familiar 80’s dance vibe, backed by fizzy drum beats and a colorfully glowing ambiance that heavily saturates everything about each song. This release might fall somewhere between organized synth pop with maybe some hints of chillwave mixed in, but no matter what it’s not like we haven’t heard this sound somewhere before. That Mood Rings 7″ from the other week is a decent example for similar comparison, except they employed the use of more traditional instruments. However both of these tracks show off some catchy synth hooks that are bound to stick right to you with or without the use of traditional instruments.

“Sarah (Meet Me in the Sauna)” on the B-side features a much more unsettling beat as opposed to the calmer A-side. Buzzing textures sit underneath chilly electronics that swiftly glide across the icy landscape, with drippy synths and cloudy vocals to classify their peppy sound even further.
