Here’s another from our new friends at Cave Punk Records. This time it’s a 7″ from RATS EYES which came out last year, on beautiful black and white splattered vinyl.
On their first 7″, Rats Eyes dismantle everything in sight with their gross and dirty brand of hardcore punk. They have a nasty attitude and an even nastier personality, something that quickly becomes obvious to any listener. This sounds like the kind of filthy shit that comes from the musky, smokey, sweatshop basements, where blood, puke and all sorts of bodily fluids combine into one foul smelling mess. They plow through the first three tracks with their scuzzy, heated rage until the epic finale “Bottom Feeder”. This ends the 7″ on a totally disgusted note of fury and discontent, fluctuating between a dark primitive jungle jam and a relentless, sprawling attack of drumming beat downs. The song ultimately falters away in a head-hanging guitar dirge, foreshadowing something shady and dire in the coming future.
