25 RIFLES is a trio of dudes from Denver, Colorado. This is their debut release – a four song 7″ EP from the Snappy Little Fingers imprint which is also located in Denver.
What you get here is a near nine minutes of shambolic alternative rock, driven by a fiery punk rage shoveling the coal deep into the burner to keep the fury going strong. Shredded and mangled guitars come off with a threatening jangle as they combine with forceful drumming and raspy vocals to create a viscous and dense wall of sound that extends for all eight and a half minutes. Opener “Episode” quickly sets the tone for this EP as it blasts a hole through brick walls to reveal sharp guitars and explosive rhythms, much like the shrieking guitar licks of “Summer Fades” or “History of Flags”. At that point it’s up to you to decide where this release falls, which is somewhere right in between alternative garage rock and punk – something we already know the good people at Snappy Little Numbers are capable of delivering. See this 7″ for added confirmation. Now do your part and head over to Snappy Little Numbers to do your part and snag the 7″.
