Spider Fever – She’s No Saint 7″

Let the party begin – it’s another high voltage 7″ from San Diego Cali-punks SPIDER FEVER. This time their single comes in an edition of 400 on translucent purple vinyl from Cave Punk Records.

Just like the first time around, Spider Fever offer up another small batch of hard-hitting, straight up punk rock with rollicking guitar flares, mangled chords and excellent song structure. Both songs pace along with a tight and steady rhythm before an all out guitar attack of electrified, fiery soloing, hereby sealing the deal that you will be playing this one again and again. Chanted, easily sung choruses gives this music an edge over all the rest of the scuzzy lo-fi punk shit because you can actually understand the lyrics and realize the scenarios, giving you just one more reason to come back to this 7″. Also, (keeping their Hozac 7″ in mind), this new one definitely shows limitless consistency as far as their sound and musical goals go if you compare the two – a sure indication of a bright future, because consistency is necessary and isn’t always delivered with a band like this.

Although we probably didn’t need to tell you that (assuming you know the names who make up this band), there’s no doubting that Spider Fever will let us down. Lead man Mario Rubalcaba has had his hand in numerous other notable bands like Hot Snakes, Earthless and OFF! – the point being there’s no way he’s gonna let us down now. Do yourself a favor and get into this shit immediately because the ruthless energy and roaring guitars will pummel you for as long as you can stand it!
