Philadelphia dream-punks ACID KICKS just unleashed their debut 7″ to the masses this past month and it was produced by Slipshod Mucus Kiss Recordings.
What you will find here is loud, torrential, psyched-out punk with a moody, shoegazing haze that engulfs everything from start to finish. They bring the heat without a second guess and if you stand in the way you’ll be face down in the dirt in no time. Self-titled opener “Life Dreams” is a dire and totally threatening wall of sound that is virtually impermeable. In this earth-shattering mix of toxic sludge you will find yelping trumpets, an army of bass guitar fury and propulsive drumming as the relentless sound singes the hair clean off your face. This brings to mind the fact that their holistic yet mystical sound is dominated by a commanding array of three bass guitars calling all the shots. If not taken with caution “Life Dreams” could result in an explosive head rush.
