This new one from the Trouble in Mind label garners significant promise for the future of APACHE DROPOUT. It appears their full length from earlier this year is worth checking out also so we might just get around to that one.
Now this isn’t exactly a lengthy 7″, but it’s jam packed with some serious psychedelia that’s bound to leave a gaping wound. “Shot Down” is a blistering, sun crusted garage psych-out with an unrelenting lo-fi crunch that goes deeper than most. Listen to the blown-out racket for long enough and you just might find yourself with a splitting headache. The song offers an uncharted change of pace almost halfway through, where it morphs into a twangy, sun-beating haze that only intensifies their crusty, burnt-out sound. This brings us to B-side “Sister Burnout”. Here you will find some jangly percussion and a frantic, stomping guitar onslaught of shredded destruction before a rewarding, fan-fare like exit that blasts the humidity for another solid twenty seconds. This closes out a 7″ that didn’t even last five minutes however we can almost promise that’s not all we will have from Apache Dropout.
Hear these jams below because we don’t want you to miss out, and stay tuned for their full length because it’s guaranteed to show up here after a single like this. Now please have yourself a nice weekend!
