Stalkers – Lady Sonia 7″

Recently released from the Brooklyn label Oops Baby Records is a brand new 7″ single from STALKERS, who also hail from Brooklyn, which appears to be the mission of Oops Baby – sticking it to locals.

Following their 2008 full length release of “Yesterday is No Tomorrow“, Stalkers are finally back on the scene with this 7” single. A-side “Lady Sonia” quickly proves these guys have unlimited amounts of energy, simultaneously bringing thoughts to mind that this band must be experienced live before all else. “Lady Sonia” has a little bit of everything, featuring plenty of vocal depth as the whole band seems to chime in with their voice and heart stopping guitar solos of electrified ferociousness, not to mention it’s unsettling punk vibes and fetish-influenced lyrics of shameless denial.

Moving on to the B-side, “When We Get There” immediately sounds more laid back than the first. Their berserk energy is still present, only they’ve seemed to suppress it slightly to focus on a more clean-cut and pop-punk approach with a song like this. Sharp guitars and a steady rocking rhythm push forward in this breezy jam, where again the vocal efforts are sure stand out as they float to the top of this free-flowing summer-ready tune. Now hear them both below and snag that blue 7″ before they’re gone for good – there’s only 100 to go around and do you really want to miss out on that cover art?!
