Coming from the Tic Tac Totally label is a brand new 7″ from OBN III’S, a five-piece and ass kicking group of misfits who play by no rules from Austin, Texas.
If you’re familiar then you probably already know the story. OBN III’s is the project of Orville Bateman Neeley III, whose name you could also find with the likes of Bad Sports and The Pumpers. This is Neeley’s most recent offering, a two song single that spares the bullshit and gets straight to the point, no questions asked. The fearless approach is immediately put on display in opener “Mark on You”, with strangled guitars shredded into a metallic pulp and batshit drumming that sucks you in it’s frantic whirlwind. Halfway through the track things begin reaching the threshold as hair-singeing solos take charge, while strange vocal howls are suddenly detected underneath the resonant madness.
On the flip-side, “Heavy Heart” takes no prisoners whatsoever. This is a near three minute rager with streamlined fury all channeled excellently into one propulsive direction, giving you no chance to breathe until the final note is beaten into your skull. This is the kind of shit that will keep you going for days, fueled by some sort of passionate irritation that you can never quite itch away completely. In other words, this fiery explosion will sink its hooks in deep, so good luck escaping the wrath of this storm.
