The Pains of Being Pure at Heart – Say No to Love 7″

Today we’ve got a fairly new single from THE PAINS OF BEING PURE AT HEART. This mint/ sea foam green slab of wax came out over the Summer this past June, and it’s out on a split release from both Slumberland Records and Fortuna Pop! in the UK.

Included on this gorgeous cut of green wax are two brand new songs from The Pains, but unknown to me before making this post, the Pains actually have a newer 7″ out there called “Heart in Your Heartbreak”. These new singles are all leading up to the second full length from The Pains, which is called “Belong” and should be out sometime in March 2011 from Slumberland Records. While we all do our best to sit tight and wait for the album, we at least have these new singles to hold us over til then.

The single’s got two new tracks of warm, layered, comforting goodness. These guys seem like they’re on to something exceptionally special with a song like “Say No to Love”. The feeling this record evokes is like you just got back to your hometown for the first time in years, rediscovering all the things about town that you once loved doing as a child. The heartwarming vibes are just too huge and adorable to ignore. You just kinda want to reach out and squeeze it and make it your own – whatever that means. The jangly, poppy guitars are enough to keep you smiling for hours on end, keeping things just about as bubbly, honest and direct as they could ever be. Check out the A-side below and let the friendly love flow right to your ears, and keep checking back in the future as we’ll work on getting the other new 7″ up here as well before the new album comes out. Don’t forget to check out the B-side “Lost Saint” right here on Youtube as well.

  1. If the rest of this album continues to amaze me like these gems of singles, then you better believe my ipod will be on Pains repeat until at least June!
