Gentleman Jesse & His Men – You’ve Got the Wrong Man 7″

Hozac Records has been putting out the good stuff right before the end of the year. This time around they bring two brand new gems from the Atlanta pop pioneers GENTLEMAN JESSE & HIS MEN, and these tracks should be a good hint at what’s to come on their forthcoming LP.

If you already know anything about Gentlemen Jesse, it’s probably that this guy has a noticeable power-pop sensibility. These two songs get their point across way before the three minute mark, being fast paced with sharp and jangly guitars that are sure to turn heads. Everything that you would want in a catchy pop song is there – a focused sound, an ambitious attitude, and a fast and frantic energy that together combine for some dangerously catchy tracks. “You’ve Got the Wrong Man” has its moments with nasty little guitar licks throughout the track, and crafty sing-along lyrics like “I think it’s misleading, cause you’re the one who’s cheating”. “Stubborn Ghost” doesn’t last past the two minute mark, but the funky bass lines and addicting guitar hooks are enough to rope you in and keep you coming back for more. Now it’s time you check out both of these songs right below. I have to go take a final…
